From 18 to 27 September 2026, Los Alcázares will celebrate a new edition of the Tapas & Cocktail Tour, a gastronomic event inviting locals and visitors to discover the town through its bars, restaurants and Mediterranean atmosphere.
For ten days, participating establishments will offer special tapas and cocktails, allowing visitors to create their own gastronomic route around Los Alcázares.
Formed in 2004, the Spangles Chorus is a ladies’ group singing a-cappella and barbershop four-part harmony, with no accompaniment. Opposite the military base on Avenida de la Libertad, the main street in Los Alcazares, you can find the Museo Aeronautico Municipal. I have passed it on my way to the boulevard or back many times but never found it open for visitors. Today I found a new sign stating the museo to be open Monday to Friday between 4 pm and 9 pm, that’s anglo-American for between 16:00 and 21:00. So I went back later to have a look inside. The Spanish Airforce aeronautical acrobatics team, Patrulle Ábuila or Eagle Patrol, has been flying small jets for many years. You can see them whooshing by any time of the day Mondays through Fridays, though obviously not during the siësta as they usually return to base between 12:00 and 13:00! The old jet planes are quite loud as they pass over for landing. But on the flip side, we get to see their acrobatics up close as they practice and demonstrate formation flying over the Mar Menor.
